Utility Systems Operator

Serve as an operator for water and wastewater treatment and related collection and distrbituion systems assuring that the facilities water and wastewater effluent meet requirements established by state and federal governments. Facilities include a collection system, lift station and treatment plants. Monitors, maintains, and repairs all facets of the sewer and water operation including repair work on plumbing of service lines, water mains, and valves. Inspect water and sewer utility system components and work done on utility systems, assuring that the facilities condition is adequate and that work done on the facilities is adequate; includes a distribution/collection system, treatment systems, and disposal systems. Provide daily production support for water and sewer utility systems, assuring that the facilities are operating in accordance with regulatory agency requirements, by sampling, monitoring, and adjusting system operations. Knowledge of water utility system and/or sewer utility system equipment assemblies, installation, and repair to assure ongoing operation and maintenance of water/sewer utility systems. Receive/read, follow and interpret work orders/assignments (oral & written), blueprints, diagrams, simple drawings and sketches. Perform mathematical computations, scheduling, and comprehend utility system drawings/sketches Understand of public heath safety hazards, processes for reporting of hazards, and safety communication To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. (SCREEN OUT ELEMENT) Ability to inspect. Ability to provide production support. Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (other than blueprints). The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
