Automotive Mechanic Helper

Able to assist higher graded mechanics to maintain, diagnose and repair light duty vehicles, such as gasoline, diesel, and electric hybrid sedans, vans, 4x4 pickups, engineering equipment, boats and small engines. Basic knowledge and skills to assemble, install and replace parts, components, and systems related to a variety of mechanical and electrical systems in vehicles, boats, and equipment. Perform routine maintenance, remove and replace components, clean and install parts in a variety of vehicles and equipment. Utilizes technical manuals, internet research, bulletins, written and oral instructions to maintain, diagnose and repair vehicles, boats and equipment. Utilizes and maintains tools and equipment of the trade used to maintain a wide variety of vehicles, boats and equipment. Trouble shoot and repair a wide variety of vehicles, boats and equipment. Use antifreeze gauge, tire gauge, test light and micrometer, volt and ohmmeters. To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability to do the work of the Automotive Mechanic Helper without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment Trouble Shooting Use of Measuring Instruments If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
