Health Technician (Emergency Medical Technician)

In employing individual to perform any construction, maintenance, interpretation, or other service in the park, the Secretary (Selecting Official) shall, in so far as practical, give first preference to qualified members of the Tribe:
(Timbisha Shoshone Homeland Act, Nov 2000). To receive current preference eligibility, members of the Timbisha Shoshone Tribe must submit a copy of the letter certifying their tribal membership. As a Health Technician (Emergency Medical Technician) at Death Valley NP, you will:
Independently provide patient care in a clinical, ambulance and/or field setting. Conduct accurate and complete patient assessments; performs triage of patient/s/ and/or emergency situations; and selects appropriate patient treatment protocol and/or modify protocols from basic, if necessary. Prepare written documentation of patient care activities and applies knowledge of cultural differences to provide medical care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values, beliefs, and customs. Maintain patient transport vehicle ensuring excellent condition of ambulance, supplies, medication and equipment. Selective Factor:
Applicants must possess the following certification at the time of application to qualify:
Must currently possess a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic certification by 06/28/2019. Must currently possess Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR Certification (or higher level certification) by 06/28/2019. Must have a current, valid State Driver License by 06/28/2019. AND Applicants must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
1) support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists; and 2) conduct patient assessment using knowledge of topographic anatomy, major body systems, and emergency medical techniques. You must include hours per week worked. EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least four years of progressively higher level undergraduate education leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent undergraduate degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a COMBINATION of education and experience as described above. NOTE:
Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours of a course of study leading to a bachelor's degree is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirements. You must include transcripts. Volunteer
Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
